Coaches do not need to be elite runners.  As long as you live a healthy lifestyle and are committed to improving the lives of girls, you can serve as a head coach, assistant coach, or junior coach!  GOTR coaches empower girls by encouraging positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.

GOTR sites are located throughout the Tucson community and surrounding areas.  Practices begin at most sites the week of August 26th and runs through mid-November.

*This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who can’t make the more rigorous commitment of being a head coach

  • Must commit to 3-5 hours per week for 10 weeks, including two 1 ½ hour lessons weekly

Why are Self-Esteem and Body Image important?

Self-Esteem is defined as the confidence and satisfaction in yourself while body image is the subjective view of yourself based on your own opinions and the views of others.

Kidshealth.org posted an article for teens that discusses the importance of body image and self-esteem. It goes over why self-esteem and body image are important, what a healthy body image is and tips on how to improve body image.
